Easton Havoc

Easton Havoc has long been a world leader in providing excellent products for bikers. Designed for all-mountain use, Easton 's Havoc mountain bike wheels are light enough for cross-country riding but tough enough to handle downhill riding. With its extra-large freehub, the Havoc runs very smooth. It is said, the 28 mm rims are 40 percent tauter than rival rims. The consensus from top riders is the hubs spin nice and smoothly, their strength is unmatched. We particularly like Easton Havoc DH Wheels. For the most part, downhill wheels need to be strong enough to take a a lot of abuse, but light enough for a good spin and good speed - easier said then done. The Easton Havoc wheels are just over 25 kilos- not the heaviest nor the lightest set of wheels on the market.

The Easton Havoc wheels uses 32mm wide rims and 28 singled butted straight pull spokes to connect to the hubs- which consist of double rows of bearings on the rotor side on front hub and rear hub. Apparently this helps kicks up the hub wheels and improves performance as well as the longevity of the product.

Easton Havoc DH Wheels uses pull straight pull spoke are not that easy to re-tension, which may require a mechanic if one loosens. Most Havocs use standard j-bend spokes, so truing is simple and if you happen to break a spoke, any bike shop will have one. Nonetheless, the DH wheels are very durable. After a wild bank up ride, you may be pleasantly surprised to see no loose spokes or hub issues. This is one the of the best mountain bike wheels out there. The Havocs use standard j-bend spokes, so truing is simple and if you happen to break a spoke, any bike shop will have one.

Bottom line: Havoc wheels hold up well despite being hammered over rocky terrain for a few months and months. They are stiff, strong and light. The 28mm rims are awesome rims especially if you run wide tires.
